To create incredible beauty of African scenery some members of the production team went to East Africa. They returned with a lot of ideas and sketches, with the expression “Hakuna Matata” and the song of Rafiki – a school counting-out rhyme.
Mufasa is the name of the last King of the settlement in Kenia before it was colonized by Britain.
“Simba” means lion, “Sarabi” – mirage, “Rafiki” – friend, “Pumbaa” – simpleton, “Banzai” – hiding, “Shenzi” – rough.

In Boo’s room you can notice the cowboy and the ball from “Toy Story”, the fish Nemo from “Finding Nemo”.
Mary Gibbs who dubbed Boo was so small at that moment that she didn’t have any lines. The team just played with her in the studio and recorded all her exclamations and phrases.
